Hand crafted in solid American black walnut, the WaterRower Classic uses paddles to connect to a moving mass of water, simulating the exercise of rowing on a real river.The WaterRower has been designed as a natural rowing simulator and is unrivalled in replicating not only the superb physiological dynamics of rowing, but much of the aesthetic pleasure as well, giving the calming feel of a boat gliding down the river.The WaterRower's patented WaterFlywheel utilizes the same physical elements (water) and the same physical dynamics (fluid drag) as occur when a boat moves through water. The easy-to-read Series III LCD monitor allows you to set your heart rate zone manually or you can take advantage of a variety of built-in programs. Also stores 5 program settings for later recall.The tough premium hardwood used is both ecologically friendly and has the ability to absorb sound and vibration, enhancing the WaterRower's quietness and smoothness of use. Hand finished in a lustrous Danish oil, its beautiful rich brown natural finish may change to an attractive purple-black over time. Partial self assembly required.Rowing is a seated aerobic pursuit suitable for all users. It removes all the body weight from the ankles, knees and hips, moving the limbs and joints through a full range of motion, from completely extended to completely contracted.
